For local politicians and planners responsible for the development of municipalities, cities and habitats, knowledge of citizens' experiences of the municipality or city as a habitat is crucial knowledge. With the survey, we map citizens' views on identity, quality of life, settlement, strengths, challenges and priorities for the future. The survey can be used as a management tool and in work with municipal, city and area development.


What are the citizens' reasons for settling in a specific municipality or city? What are the reasons for the choice of settlement? Which factors and needs were decisive for the choice of the specific home? How satisfied are the citizens with their current home and surrounding area? Do the residents possibly wish for another home? Knowledge of the citizens' motivations and wishes for settling can help municipalities, developers and housing companies to understand what attracts new citizens and how they want to live. Analyzes of settlement can help decision-makers to develop the type of housing that citizens demand. The survey can be used in work with settlement, development and urban planning.


Where do citizens shop and for what reasons? What are consumers' favorite places to shop for groceries, clothing, electronics, furniture, etc.? Which stores do consumers prefer and why? What purchases are made locally, in other areas and online? How do you experience the transport conditions to the citizens' favorite shopping places? The local retail trade is under pressure. In many cities, this means empty shops and less life in the city centre. When planners need to be prepared to make decisions in this reality, it is advantageous to have knowledge of consumers' purchasing behaviour. The planning group conducts analyzes of citizens' shopping habits and preferences, which provide knowledge for the development of the local retail trade.


How do citizens get from A to B in everyday life? What are the citizens' preferred and actual modes of transport? How are the transport and traffic conditions experienced where citizens live and travel? How is safety and security in traffic? What is life like as a motorist, cyclist, pedestrian and user of public transport? Decision-makers working with mobility should know the road users' habits, preferences, attitudes and experiences of traffic. Society's mobility is changing, both as a result of climate action, technologies, changed settlements and demographic developments. The planning group offers a wide range of analyzes that provide knowledge about citizens' mobility.


The efforts to reduce CO2 concern us all. But what are the citizens' attitudes to the necessity of the efforts? According to the citizens, who is responsible? To what extent do citizens' attitudes and actions follow each other? What are the driving forces and barriers for a more climate-friendly life in relation to housing, transport and general consumption? Who are the opponents and supporters of the development of renewable energy in the local area? Citizens' actions play a role in reducing C02 emissions. At the same time, citizens' attitudes towards renewable energy installations (wind and solar) have a great importance for climate action. Therefore, the Planning Group has developed studies that map citizens' attitudes and readiness to act in relation to climate-relevant conditions.


Who uses the municipality's various offers and how satisfied are the citizens with the offers used? What works well in the eyes of the citizens and where is there room for improvement? Municipalities provide a number of services to citizens, from information and citizen services to libraries, care for the elderly, childcare and schools. For municipal decision-makers, it is generally advantageous to know the citizens' experiences of these services. We carry out analyzes of municipal services and offers to citizens, which are used in the work with strategy and management.


How do citizens experience contact with municipalities and other authorities? How easy or difficult is it to get in touch with the public sector and what service do citizens experience? To what extent are the tasks or problems that citizens turn to solved quickly and competently? These are questions that many politicians consider important because it affects the citizens' overall experience of the authority. The public sector offers citizens several channels and contact points, including: telephone, attendance, e-Box, online self-service and social media, as well as information on websites and external media. For authorities, it can be a difficult challenge to keep track of how the various information and contact channels are experienced by the users.
