Citizen panel information

What is a citizen panel?
The Citizen Panel consists of citizens from different backgrounds who municipalities and other authorities can ask to stay informed about public opinion or involve in development processes. The Citizen Panel works via emails with links to surveys, which are sent to the participants. Inquiries may also include invitations to participate in roundtables, citizen meetings and the like. Citizens identify themselves when registering, but remain anonymous in analyses and reports. Names, addresses and other personal information are never passed on or disclosed to third parties.

Why citizen panels?
It is about seeing the world through the eyes of citizens. For politicians and the public administration, better communication with citizens strengthens democracy. Knowledge of citizens' attitudes and wishes is part of the work on priorities, accountability and closeness between authorities and citizens. Citizen panels are a good option for all citizens who want to contribute.

  • You can exercise democratic influence

  • You can express your opinions

  • You can contribute to the development of your municipality

When you participate in a citizen panel.

1. Requirements for participation.
Membership is personal and non-transferable. It is a prerequisite for admission that you answer all questions in the registration form. To avoid duplicates, only 1 participant per email address will be admitted.

2. Updating information.
Registered citizens whose email address has expired will be deleted. There will be no connection with public registers. This also means that relatives of a deceased family member must inform themselves about deletion from the panel if the registered email is still active. Requests for deletion or changes can be made by filling out this form .

3. Data protection of your personal information.
Only the Planning Group and the individual municipality have confidential access to the background information you provide when registering. Your background information will only be used for the purpose for which you provided it, i.e. for surveys and information about activities for the citizen panel. Survey responses will only be used for analysis purposes in anonymized form. You have the right to be informed of what information is stored about you and you can have this information sent to you if you wish. If you withdraw from the panel, your contact information will be deleted.

4. Invitation to surveys.
Surveys and information are sent by email. You are not necessarily invited to all surveys that are sent out. Some surveys are aimed at specific population groups, and there may be representative considerations that mean that not all registered participants are invited. You may also receive invitations to roundtables and citizen meetings or be informed about areas where you can exercise democratic influence. It is always voluntary whether you want to respond to a survey or invitation.

5. Good tone.
Serious responses are expected. Abuse or making blatantly unreasonable statements may result in removal from the panel.

Enjoy your participation.
